KNIFE-WIELDING MAN ARRESTED OVER BOTCHED ROBBERY IN BELFAST

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an attempted armed robbery of a shop on Kennedy Way in west Belfast yesterday evening, Saturday, December 2. 

It was reported that at around 5.25 pm two males, one armed with a knife entered the shop and demanded money from staff.

The males made off empty handed.

Police responded and a 30 year old male was arrested a short time later on the Andersonstown Road.

He remains in police custody at this time.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 1010 of 02/12/17.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
