DETECTIVES are investigating an “armed” street fight involving a number of males in West Belfast.

The street brawl took place yesterday evening, Monday, November 6.

As a result, a 31-year-old was arrested for assault.

Police said they were called to a report of an assault in the Andersonstown Road area just after 5 pm.

Several males were taken to the accident and emergency department at the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment to their injuries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “It was reported a number of males, armed with weapons, were on the street fighting

“A number of males were reported to have sustained what are believed to be non life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

“Police also received reports of damage to vehicles during the incident.”
