POLICE APPEAL AFTER FOUR PEOPLE ASSAULTED IN EAST BELFAST

DETECTIVES investigating a report of an assault in the Upper Newtownards Road area in Belfast last Sunday are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Inspector McCambridge said: “At approximately 1:10 am that morning, October 29, police received a report of an assault outside a commercial premises in the area between Earlswood Road and Eastleigh Drive.

“Three men sustained injuries, including a broken nose, cuts to the face and head, during the assault.

“The injured males were subsequently treated at hospital for their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time. 

“A female who sustained bruising and a cut to her ear did not require hospital treatment.

“A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, and has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in this area on the Upper Newtownards area around the time of the assault, and witnessed what occurred, to contact detectives at Musgrave Criminal Investigation Branch on the non-emergency  number 101 quoting reference number 238 of 29/10/17.
