POLICE have confirmed that a woman has died in a house fire.

The woman, aged in her 50’s, died following a fire at a house in The Green in the garrison town of Holywood, Co Down, earlier today. 

Police received a report of a fire at a house shortly before 12.15 pm.

Emergency Services attended but unfortunately the woman was found deceased at the scene. 

An investigation into the cause of the fire has now commenced.
