POLICE APPEAL AFTER ELDERLY WOMAN KNOCKED DOWN BY TRACTOR

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was knocked and injured by a tractor last night.

The collision happened at New Street in Randalstown on Wednesday, September 6.

The elderly female was then taken by Ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment to leg and head injuries.

A spokesperson for Belfast Trust said the woman was in a “stable condition in High Dependency Unit”.

Sergeant Armstrong said: “The collision was reported at approximately 6:30pm last night.

“The woman sustained head and leg injuries, and was taken to hospital where she remains.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in the New Street area around the time of the collision to contact police in Antrim on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting reference 987 of 06/09/17.”
