THREE ARRESTED AFTER MAN BRUTALLY STABBED IN NORTH BELFAST

DETECTIVES are investigating after man in his 30s was taken to hospital following a stabbing incident in North Belfast this morning.

Officers were called to the scene on the Antrim Road near Duncairn Avenue at 8.3 0am.

It followed a report of a bust up between a number of people.

The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment for two puncture wounds to his back after he was stabbed.

During follow up inquiries, two men aged 19 and 20 and an 18-year-old woman were arrested.

They are currently being held at the PACE custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Anthony Kelly said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact officers in the Reducing Offending Unit at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 245 of 04/08/17.

“Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
