THREE ARRESTED OVER UDA MURDER OF BRIAN MCILHAGGA

Detectives arrest three men over UDA murder of Brian McIlhagga

DETECTIVES from the Serious Crime Branch investigating the UDA murder of Brian McIlhagga in January 2015, a paramilitary style shooting in Ballymoney in March 2015 and other serious crime have made three arrests.

The men arrested are aged 33, 34 and 49. 

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey said: “The males were arrested in the North Antrim area today.

“They have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station where they are currently assisting police with their enquiries.”

Mr McIlhagga was dragged from his girlfriend’s home in Ballymoney in January 2015 and blasted to death outside.

The UDA’s North Antrim brigade have been blamed for carrying out the attack.
