Police say a suspect device found during a security alert in west Belfast last night was an “elaborate hoax”.

The suspect object was found in the Horn Drive area yards from the Woodburn PSNI station around 8 pm.

Residents raised the alarm when children were found playing with it in the street.

A controlled explosion was carried out the device by an ATO robot.
