A 47 year old woman and a 26 year old man were arrested in the Enniskillen area earlier today (Thursday, June 15) as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation of drugs.

The pair were taken to Enniskillen police station for questioning by the District Support Team.

Inspector Glen Latimer said: “A quantity of Class A drugs with a street value of £2,000 and a quantity of prescription drugs were recovered during searches at two properties this morning.

“A large quantity of prescription medication with a street value of £7,000 has also been intercepted in the postal system and seized by police.

“Both detained individuals will be questioned on suspicion of a number of drugs offences including attempted importation of controlled drugs, attempted possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.”

The 47 year old woman has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The 26 year old man remains in custody at present being held under the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act.
