DETECTIVES have charged a 31 year old man with a number of drugs offences including importing a controlled drug and possessing class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

He is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court today, Thursday, 15 June, for a first remand hearing.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

A 39 year old male who was also arrested has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.

It is understood the charges relate to a planned search of a property in the Carryduff area on Tuesday, 13 June when a substantial amount of suspected Class A drugs were seized.
