POLICE have confirmed that a pensioner knocked down in east Belfast on Friday has tragically died from his injuries.

The incident happened at about 3.30 pm on the Albertbridge Road.

The man who died was 79-year-old Patrick McDermott from east Belfast.

Police have appealed for anyone with information in relation to the incident to contact them on the 101 number.
