DETECTIVES have charged a man with a number of offences including possession of criminal property and drug offences.

The 29-year-old is to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

It’s understood the charges relate to the seizure of £35,000 in cash in a vehicle in the Sprucefield area of Lisburn on Tuesday.

Police also recovered £40,000 worth of cannabis during a follow up search of a house in Belfast.

A 30-year-old woman, who was also arrested, has been released pending further enquiries.

A 53-year-old man appeared in court on Wednesday charged in connection with the operation.

The grandfather was remanded in custody.
