DETECTIVES have charged a man over a robbery bid.
The incident happened on Sunday, May 14 at Buttercrane Quay in Newry.
The 22-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault on police.
He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15th May.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
