POLICE are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was assaulted with a bottle in Belfast city centre.

The PSNI say the incident happened in the High Street area on Sunday at about 9.20 pm.

The boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for a gash to the back of his head.

Police have appealed for information about the assault to contact officers at Musgrave Street PSNI station on the 101 number.
