DETECTIVES have charged a woman with attempted murder after a female was battered with a hammer in north Belfast.

She is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence

The victim, aged in her 20s, suffered facial injuries after being attacked in the Enfield Parade area of the city on Saturday night.

She was taken to hospital for treatment.

The accused is to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, April 10.
