MAN DIES AFTER FIGHT IN BELFAST CITY CENTRE

DETECTIVES are investigating after a 31-year-old man died following a fight in Belfast’s Donegall Street.

He passed away in hospital from injuries sustained in an altercation which police say happened shortly before 1am on Sunday morning.

Another man, 30, was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce, who is leading the investigation, said police are aware there would have been quite a number of people in the Donegall Street area at the time and are keen to speak to any witnesses or passers-by.
