MAN ARRESTED OVER DVLA FRAUD

DETECTIVES in Ballymena investigating allegations of fraud at DVLA premises have arrested a 64-year-old man.

He was arrested in the town on Wednesday.

The man was questioned on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position.

He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.

It is understood the fraud relates to allegations that cars were passed for MOT without going through a formal test process.

The probe was sparked following claims by a whistleblower.
