DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have charged a man following an intelligence-led stop and search operation yesterday.

The 39 year old man has been charged with a number of offences including possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances, possession of an offensive weapon and driving whilst disqualified.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

As is normal procedure the charges are reviewed by the PPS.

The man was arrested following the search of a car in the Mayo Street area of north Belfast on Thursday 9th March.
