DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an incident in the Skegoniell Avenue area of North Belfast in the early hours of this morning in which a male was seriously assaulted.

Three men in their 20s have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: “Anyone who has information about this incident should contact police at Musgrave station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 203 of 4/3/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
