MAN ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF FOOTBALL COACH CONAN ANDERSON

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team investigating the murder of Belfast man Conan Anderson have arrested a 26-year-old man today.

The 22-year-old football coach from the Short Strand area, suffered head injuries at Arthur Lane in the city centre in the early hours of Monday, February 6.

He had been enjoying a night out at Thompson’s Garage nightspot.

Mr Anderson was admitted to hospital later that day, but died nearly two weeks later.

MIT detectives want anyone who was in the Upper Arthur Street, Montgomery Street and Arthur Lane area on Monday 6 February at about 5.30 am to contact them.

The 26-year-old man was arrested this morning.

He is currently being quizzed at the PACE custody suite in Musgrave PSNI station.
