MAN CHARGED OVER DRUGS AND CASH SEIZURE FOLLOWING POLICE RAID

The quantity of cash seized by police during drugs raid in Portadown

A man is to face a court next month after police seized £10,000 worth of cannabis and a quantity of cash during searches of a property yesterday.

Detectives from the Reactive and Organised Crime Branch assisted by a local district support team searched a property in the Fitzroy Street area of Portadown.

The 33-year-old is due before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 15.

He has been charged with possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and possessing criminal property.

PSNI Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said: “This is yet another example of the PSNI’s commitment to tackling the issue of drugs in our society

“This issue is a priority for police and we are determined to continue to combat illegal drug supply and use.

“To do this, we also need the public to work with us and provide any information they may have.0
