POLICE SEARCHING FOR KNIFE-WIELDING ROBBERS OVER NORTH BELFAST HOLD UP

DETECTIVES are hunting two robbers who held up a north Belfast off-licence with a knife.

Police say the two men, who had covered their faces with clothing, entekred the off-licence on the Antrim Road around 8.30 pm last night, Saturday, February 4.

After buying something, one of the men asked the assistant for another item.

When she opened the till one of the men produced a knife.

He lunged towards the member of staff jabbing the knife in her direction while a second man then removed a sum of money and receipts from the till.

Then were both challenged by a male member of staff as they made off towards the door but one of the men produced the knife again.

Both robbers then made off on foot.

Police say the shop workers were uninjured but were left very badly shaken.

Anyone with information about the robbers is asked to contact detectives in north Belfast on the 101 non emergency number.
