A 35 year old man is to face a court today charge over a cross country police chase.
He has been charged with a number of offences including criminal damage, dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.
The suspect will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday, February 3 for a first remand hearing.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to the arrest of a man following a police pursuit from Belfast to Newry on Wednesday.
He failed to stop for the PSNI’s Auto Crime Team while towing a trailer on a silver Renault Scenic.
Police used its helicopter to track him from Belfast to Newry where officers deployed a stinger device to bring the vehicle to a halt.
