DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have arrested a man over a dissident republican shooting incident at a house in west Belfast earlier this month.

A man and woman aged in their 50s were both shot in the legs in their home in the Norglen Parade area on January 12.

Gunmen shot them as they refused to hand over their teenage son who was to face a so-called punishment shooting.

Police said searches were carried out at a property in west Belfast on Tuesday and a 42-year-old man was arrested.

A number of items were also removed by TIU detectives.
