UPDATED NEWS: TWO MORE MEN ARRESTED OVER MURDER BID ON PSNI OFFICER

DETECTIVES investigating the attempted murder of a police officer on the Crumlin Road on Sunday night have made fresh arrests this evening.

Two men aged 30 and 39 were detained under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

They have been taken to the serious crime custody suite at Musgrave PSNI Station for questioning about the attempted murder of the police officer.

A 36-year-old man arrested in the Cliftonville area of north Belfast on Sunday night remains in custody.

All three can be held for up to 48 hours before they are either charged or released.

Detectives can apply to a judge to have their period of detention extended.

Police say that the Crumlin Road has now re-opened to all traffic.
