DETECTIVES from the PSNi’s Serious Crime Branch investigating the dissident republican murder of Joe Reilly in Poleglass two weeks ago today have issued a specific appeal for information about a person on a bicycle.

Police believe the bicycle was in the area immediately after 43 year old Mr Reilly was shot at his home in Glenwood Court at 8pm on Thursday, October 20.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery said: “I am appealing to anyone who knows anything about someone on a push bike or saw a person on a bike in the Bell Steel Road area immediately after the shooting.

“This bike may have been in the Glenwood area.

“I need to speak to anyone who saw the bike, who was on it or where it went.

“Our revisit to the scene last Thursday night was productive.

“But we need more assistance from the community if we are going to take the gun which killed Joe off the streets and put his killers in front of a court.”

Anyone with information can contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101 or speak anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
