NI ROADS CLAIM ANOTHER VICTIM AS MAN DIES IN TWO VEHICLE CRASH

police-road-closedA man in his 20s has died following a crash involving a lorry and a car.

The smash happened on the Ballyutoag Road in Crumlin, Co Antrim on Tuesday night.

He was driving a car that crashed with the lorry shortly before 8.30 pm.

The lorry driver was not seriously injured and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Ballyutoag Road and who witnessed the collision to contact local police in Antrim or the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Barracks  on 101 quoting reference number 1171 of 25/10/16.

The Ballyutoag Road remains closed between the Lylehill Road and Carn Road on Wednesday morning while the Collision Investigation Unit continue its examination of the scene to determine who was at fault.

It was the second death on Northern Ireland roads in just three days.

On Sunday, Slovakia car breaker Kamil Cervenka died in a single vehicle crash in Co Antrim.
