DETECTIVES are investigating after a man in his 30s was stabbed in west Belfast.

The man was attacked by a number of males at Springfield Avenue shortly before 9.20 pm last night, Tuesday, October 25.

He sustained a stab wound to his back/

The victim was taken to the accident and emergency department at the Royal Victoria Hospitals for treatment.

But his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Springfield Avenue between 9 pm and 9.30 pm and who witnessed the attack to contact detectives from Reactive & Organised Crime Branch in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 1279 of 25 October.
