DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was shot in the legs and ankles in west Belfast last night.

The attack happened on Bread Street, beside St Peter’s Cathedral, shortly before 9 pm on Thursday night.

The victim was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital and is now in a stable condition.

The area around the shooting was cordoned off as crime scene investigators looked for clues.
