LAST ORDERS…John Bonzer Boreland’s last pint before he was shot dead by UDA rivals in north Belfast minutes later

THREE loyalists arrested in connection with the probe into the murder of one time UDA north Belfast brigadier John ‘Bonzer’ Boreland have been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Boreland, 46, was sot dead in north Belfast last month by a lone gunman in north Belfast.

A 29-year-old man has been detained in north Ayrshire and two others, aged 33 and 61, were arrested in north Belfast.

They will face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

‘Bonzer’ Boreland was shot a number of times as he walked to his flat in the Sunningdale Gardens area of north Belfast on Sunday, August 7.

He died at the scene.

A fourth man, aged 33, who was arrested in Newtownabbey, on Tuesday has been released pending a report to the PPS.

Detectives are still hunting the killer who blasted Boreland to death.
