THE PSNI are investigating a reported of sex assault in south Belfast.

Detectives from the Rape Crime Unit have cordoned off in the Ormeau Road area where they have been told the attack took place.

The area relates to waste ground at University Street.

Detective Inspector Lynne Knox of the Rape Crime Unit said: “Police are investigating the report of a sexual assault in the University Street area of Belfast.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
