A teenage boy is critically ill in hospital after his bicycle was in involved in a collision with a lorry.

The accident happened in the Poleglas area of west Belfast.

The boy was cycling on the Brian’s Well Road this afternoon, Monday, August 15, when he was knocked down.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and he was whisked by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital>

His condition is described “critical’.

Police have closed the Brian’s Well Road and Pembrook Loop with diversions in place as the scene is examined.
