A SECURITY alert on the Belfast to Dublin railway line has ended, say police.

The line was closed following reports of a device being left on the line in Lurgan.

But the line has now reopened.

There is still a a large police operation ongoing this evening targeting serious crime in the Lurgan area.

Searches are being carried out in the Cornakinnegar Road.

Senior police in Lurgan have thanked the local community for their patience and cooperation as the and search operation continue.
