DEATH OF CIVIL SERVANT NO LONGER TREATED AS ‘SUSPICIOUS’

police scene pic new1THE death of a man in a garrison town at the weekend is no longer being treated as suspicious”.

Police have ruled out foul play following the results of an extensive post mortem examination.

The body of the man, who was aged in his 40s and worked as a civil servant in the NI Assembly, was found in the Ballydavey Cottages area in Holywood, Co Down on Sunday night, May 5.

A 53-year-old man, who is believed to be a partner of the deceased, was arrested as part of the police investigation.

He has now been released unconditionally.

The men had been attending a barbecue in the rear garden of the property.
