THREE MEN HELD OVER SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY IN NORTH BELFAST

police scene pic new1THREE men have been arrested following an incident on the northern outskirts of Belfast.

Police say it follows reports the men were seen acting suspiciously in the Bawnmore Grove area of Newtownabbey yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 25.

Inspector Colin Ash said: “Shortly after 4.30pm it was reported that a number of males in a car were acting suspiciously in the area.

“It was reported that a car matching the description had been seen in the area of Bawnmore Park on Sunday evening and the occupants had approached a young boy close to a shop in the area.

“Police responded and the 3 males, aged 49, 55 and 58, were arrested in the Shore Road area on suspicion of going equipped for theft.

“A fourth male, who was reported to have been in the car, made off on foot along Mill Road.

“All three suspects remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
