MAN CHARGED OVER £12,000 HEROIN DRUG BUST IN EAST BELFAST

Laganside Court houseDETECTIVES have charged a 38-year-old man over a £12,000 heroin drug seizure in east Belfast.

The suspect has been charged with conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug and possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

He is face Belfast Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, Friday, May 27.

As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

The 38 year old man and a 23 year old man were arrested in the Holywood Road area of East Belfast on the morning of Wednesday 25 May following a proactive operation by Belfast District Support Team.

A quantity of suspected heroin, estimated at this time to be worth approximately £12,000 worth, was found and seized.

The 23 year old man arrested has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
