YOUTHS ASSAULTED IN NORTH BELFAST SECTARIAN HATE CRIME ATTACK

police scene pic new1POLICE in north Belfast are appealing for information following the report of an assault on two male youths last Saturday, May 21.

The PSNI say that shortly after 3.00pm it was reported that the two youths, aged 13 and 14,  had been assaulted by two unknown males as they walked up the Ardoyne Road, Belfast.

It is understood the attackers had just got off a bus and attacked the the males.

Police are treating this incident as a sectarian hate crime.

Inspector Wise said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Police at Tennent Street on the non-emergency number 101.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
