POLICE are investigating after a man in his 20s has been killed in a car crash in Co Down in the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened on the Newcastle Road in Castlewellan at about 1.45 am.

The PSNI say no other vehicles were involved in the smash.

The road remains closed and diversions are in place.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Branch examine the scene.
