DETECTIVES have charged a 31 year old man with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He is due to appear at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, Friday, 6 May.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
The man was arrested following a stabbing incident in the Abercorn Park area of Portadown on May 4.
Officers were able to get to the scene within a minute of the report and found the victim, who had been attacked with a knife and hammer.
The victim had injuries to his head, shoulder and back.
