DETECTIVES are investigating an overnight arson attack on a church.
Police say Cairnshill Methodist Church on the Ballylenaghan Road area of Castlereagh was broken into sometime during the night on Thursday and a number of fires were lit inside.
Damage has been caused to the interior of the building as a result of the fires.
Police are trying to establish a motive for the incident.
Detective Inspector Cummings is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact his detectives at Lisburn PSNI station on 101.
