Murdered drug dealer Conor McKee was shot several times saya police with a shotgun

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team probing the murder of Conor McKee in north Belfast three months ago have arrested a man today.

The 42-year-old suspect was detained in the north of the city this morning>

He has been and taken serious crime suite at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast for questioning.

McKee was found dead at his Glenpark Street home on 7 January by his mother.

He had been blasted to death a number of times with a shotgun.

The 31-year-old, who was out on bail on drug charges, leaves behind a partner and two young children.

The officer leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway, said the investigation was making progress.

“We have had a very positive response from Conor’s friends who have come forward with information after our appeal last week.

“I want to thank them for their co-operation.

 

“Our enquiries in the local community have established that Conor was seen in the area of Rosapenna Street and Oldpark Road at 6pm last Thursday evening.

“We believe he was shot in his home at Glenpark Street at 6.15pm.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw Conor walking from the Oldpark area back to Glenpark Street between 6pm and 6.15pm, either on his own or with someone, to contact us.

“Anyone with information can contact detectives at Musgrave police station on the non-emergency 101 number or provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
