TWO MEN TO FACE COURT OVER VICIOUS WEST BELFAST BAR ASSAULT

police crime scene pic 1DETECTIVES have charged two men following a violent confrontation in west Belfast on Monday evening.

It is believed the fight involved a number of Turkish men outside the Whitefort Inn.

Three men were taken to hospital following the incident on the Andersonstown Road.

Local people said hurley sticks and hammers were reportedly used as weapons during the attack.

The ground outside the bar was splattered with blood stains following the vicious attack.

A white BMW 3 series car was later removed from the scene by police for a forensic examination.

The two men – aged 38 and 42 – are accused of a number of offences, including grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

They are expected to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court later this morning for a first remand hearing.
