DETECTIVES investigating the attempted murder of a prison officer in Belfast last Friday have made a fresh arrested.

A 35 year old woman was detained in the Belfast area earlier today.

She has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Detectives have also been granted an additional 24 hours by a court to question three men aged 34, 39 and 45 who were arrested on the evening of Sunday 6 March in relation to the investigation.

The prison officer cheated death when the device partially exploded under his van as it hit a speed bump in Hillsborough Drive.

The 52-year-old married man sustained serious injuries but is now in a stable condition in hospital where he remains under armed police guard.
