POLICE are attending the scene of a bomb alert in west Belfast this afternoon.

The Stewartstown Road in west Belfast has been closed at the Woodburn police station following the discovery of a suspicious object.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.

Army Technical Officers have been tasked to the scene.

It is the fourth bomb alert in west Belfast in as many days.

An alert yesterday at Christ the Redeemer Primary School in Twinbrook was later declared a hoax.
