TWO MEN TO FACE COURT AFTER COPS SMASH DEADLY HEROIN RACKET

Laganside Court houseTWO men are due to appear in court today after the PSNI seized a killer heroin batch.

The men, aged 33 and 46, are to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court charged with the illegal importation of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The pair were arrested after police stopped a car in Hillsborough, Co Down, on Monday evening during an intelligence-led operation.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch recovered around £4,000 worth of heroin of “ongoing search activity”.

Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop: “The small packages which are the size of table tennis balls and wrapped in small plastic bags have been recovered as part of ongoing search activity.

“I would appeal to anyone involved in the supply of heroin to consider those who suffer daily from misuse of this killer drug.

“Anyone convicted of supplying heroin can expect to face a lengthy period in prison.”
