THREE-YEAR-OLD BOY CHEATS INJURY AFTER MASKED MEN STORM HOME

Police securityppicDETECTIVES are hunting dissident republican vigilantes after a three-year-old boy cheated injury during an aggravated burglary on his home.

Police say a masked gang armed with hammers stormed into the boy’s west Belfast home and threatened a woman.

The incident happened in Moyard Parade, off the Upper Springfield Road, on Friday night just after 8 pm.

The PSNI revealed that four masked men forced their way into the home, causing damage to the bathroom, kitchen and smashed a number of windows.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was not injured but left shaken by her ordeal.

Another woman and a three-year-old boy who were also in the house at the time were uninjured.

The dissident hoodlums are all described as wearing dark clothing.

The cowardly thugs had their faces covered.

It is believed they made off on foot along Moyard Parade.

Detective Inspector Mark McHaffie said: “I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that would assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the 101 non-emergency number. .

“Or alternatively they contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
