DCI Justyn Galloway says death of man in Belfast is being treated as murder

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have launched a murder inquiry after the discovery of a man’s body in north Belfast.

The body was found in a house in Glenpark Street in the Ardoyne district shortly before 10.30 pm last night, Thursday, Januaary 7.

The murder victim is believed to have been in his 30s.

Detectives said a post-mortem examination will take place later today to determine the exact cause of death.

But an initial examination of his remains at the scene said he had been murdered.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the area of Glenpark Street on Wednesday, who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to contact us on the 101 number.”
