POLICE have launched an investigation after the discovery of a woman’s body following a a house fire in south Belfast.

PSNI officers were called to the blaze in Archdale Drive in the Belvoir Estate shortly after 2 pm this afternoon.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was found among the burning embers in the property.

A post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow to find the exact cause of her death.
