DETECTIVES are investigating after a man sustained slash wounds to his face after an attack in north Belfast in the early hours of this morning, New Year’s Day.
The 24-year-old victim was found in an entry off Glencairn Way just after 5 am.
The man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
They are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police believe he was attacked by another man.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the vicious attack to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
