He is said to have gone to ground as a police posse closed in on him.

Mr Meli, a 20-year-old father-of-one was attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning as he walked to a local bar in Twinbrook to get a late night carryout.

As many as up to 30 young people were in the area of Doc’s Lane near Glasvey Close at the time.

His family say that as he lay dead on the ground, his killers rifled his pockets for money.

A fighting fund has been set up online to help the family cover his funeral costs.

Three teenagers faced Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody charged with his murder.
